Wednesday, 07 October 2009 20:48 |
By Ted Carter Sentiment appears strong among most Tybee City Council incumbents and challengers for letting Tybee Market expand its parking. But less clear among the candidates is whether the market’s parking lot should have an exit onto Lovell Avenue, a residential roadway that runs behind the market. The issue of an entrance and exit onto Lovell Avenue was part of a larger question posed at a candidates’ forum Tuesday night sponsored by the Tybee Island Residents and Property Owners Association.Four incumbents – Charlie Brewer, Barry Brown, Wanda Doyle and Dick Smith – joined challengers Bill Garbett, Anne Miller and Shirley Sessions in answering a round of 18 questions the association elicited from Tybee residents.Incumbents Eddie Crone and Paul Wolff and challengers Marianne Bramble, Frank Schuman and Kathryn Williams declined to appear at the forum attended by nearly 100 people. |
